Grants

As part of our commitment to help everybody joining EuroPython, we are pleased to announce that we offer conference grants that include:

• A standard ticket for the conference (including full access to talks, trainings, sprints, wifi). This also includes access to coffee breaks and lunches.
• Accommodation for 8 nights in triple/quadruple room (checkin on Sunday 30th June, checkout on Monday 8th July) at the conference hotel, including breakfast, wifi in room.
• A ticket to the official conference dinner (Wednesday 3rd).

The grants do not include:

• Traveling costs. We do advise on the best routes to get to Florence.
• Costs for dinners beyond the conference dinner.

Grant eligibility

Our grants are open to all people in need a financial aids, but while selecting the candidates, we will specifically favor the following groups:

• Women working in Computer Science
• Students of Computer Science
• Unemployed looking for jobs in Computer Science
• Potential speakers of EuroPython (people who submitted a proposal with good results in the community voting)

Moreover, we do require a proven interester and/or background experience with Python and/or within the Python community.

How to apply

To apply send, no later than April 7th, an e-mail to info@pycon.it with the subject heading '[GRANT]' containing:

• your full name and email address
• current address, contact phone number and copy of photo ID
• your CV
• an explicit acknowledge that you have checked travel costs to Florence, Italy, and you can afford them in case you are selected for a grant.
• an explicit acknowledge that you checked immigration rules to Italy and you are eligible for a traveling visa (if needed)
• 1-page statement (no more than 600 words) about why you wish to attend EuroPython and why attending is important to your research and/or future career

Winners and claim process

The winners will be notified by e-mail by April 10th.
